Wondering if anyone has created a DVD , on mixing a metal production from start to finish yet. I've heard a few people talk about doing it, and I've seen releases for other genres. It's something that would definitely help me out, so if anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

This is the only one Im aware of. Its for "rock", but I associate most of the stuff he works on with the heavier side of things. Kinda pricey but I plan on picking it up one of these days.

I think you can learn a great deal from just cruising the forums, and just mixing the hell out of everything you can again and again. Something else that has been helpfull to me lately has been referencing my tracks against some of the Guitar Hero Mogg files that are out there in internetland. Im not suggesting ripping eq curves from famous mixes but I think comparing the amount of compression and general frequency content of other successful mixes in the genre is enlightening to hear track by track in isolation. Best of luck.

Thanks for the link and tips. I've been on this forum a few years now and I've learned a lot, but I just think I learn best by watching someone go through all the minutia.
