IRON MAIDEN: Give Me A Bigger Ed!

"The summer is heating up and so is the demand for Iron Maiden tickets on the Give Me Ed...Til I'm Dead Tour.

Management have just confirmed that owing to an overwhelming response to tickets in Zagreb, Croatia they have had to upgrade venues from the 7,000 seat Dom Sportova Hall to the 20,000 seat Radnik Stadium. The date remains Saturday June 17th.

This follows the news that Iron Maiden's headlining show at New Yorks' Madison Square Gardens on 30th July sold out in a matter of hours; while all three shows in Scandinavia sold out shortly after going on sale - including the 31,000 capacity Stockholm Stadium. All this makes the Give Me Ed Tour one of the hottest tickets this summer.

The dates are among the band’s headlining performances at most of the biggest festivals across Europe this year, starting with the Download Festival at Donington Park on Saturday May 31st.

Maiden have promised they will take no prisoners. As Bruce Dickinson says "This will be a full on Maiden summer here in Europe and later in the USA. We've been putting the finishing touches to the new album which I think has got us all very excited about getting out there and putting on a spectacular show. The news about the shows selling out and in some cases getting bigger is fantastic. We've always said that one day metal would be back in a big way and some people would laugh at that. Well, I think that day has definitely arrived."

Tickets for all the European shows are on sale now so if you haven't got your tickets yet you need to move fast! "

MANTICORA work on new album

"Hi there,
we hope you all enjoyed the Easter holidays.

We have spent the 5 days of rest to begin demo'ing some of the new songs. Drums have been recorded for 4 tracks, and right after our mini European tour, we will begin to add the rest of the instruments/vocals, for a demo that will provide us and the people involved around the band a guiding line for what will come, when we record our next album (hopefully later this year).

2 songtitles are ready: "Velvet Ice" and "The Wild Swans At Coole". The latter, is a poem by W.B. Yeats, that we have put music upon."

Additional notable musicians are: Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon), Lana Lane, Harry Hess (Harem Scarem) and D.C. Cooper (Silent Force).

Kataklysm and The Haunted - North American Tour

Nuclear Blast recording artist Kataklysm will support The Haunted (Earache) and Shai Hulud (Revelation) on a full North American tour set to start in May 2003. Victory’s Darkest Hour and Trustkills’ Bleeding Through will divide the opening slot for what will easily be the most brutal tour this year.

Kataklysm recently spun through North America with Hate Eternal, Dying Fetus and Into Eternity, and last year they demolished fans at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival (April), headlined the Death Across America tour with Divine Empire, Misery Index and Beyond the Embrace, as well as a coast-to-coast Canadian trek in September and October, leaving fans pulverized by their patented brand of extreme metal that has come to be known as "Northern Hyperblast." This latest jaunt will help further reinforce the band’s place as one of the premiere death metal bands.

The band is supporting their latest CD, Shadows & Dust, which Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles describes as "Kataklysm's shining hour" and has Unrestrained! proclaiming, "Kataklysm are ready for world domination." Be sure to check out their video for “In Shadows & Dust” currently spinning on MTV2’s Extreme Rock. On a related note, music from “In Shadows & Dust” is being used in a documentary by MTV called “True Life: I’m Shipping Out,” regarding Army soldiers in their final days on U.S. soil before being deployed to Iraq for the war.
