So right now I use pod farm 2 and i get a pretty good tone, is there any software that will get me a better one?

If you're running a pc have you tried lepou's plugins? or TSE plugins? Theis plugins sound really good combined with some sweet IR's like Catharsis's, God's cab, ASEM beta. All those IR's are made by other forum members and sound amazing. Maybe check those out.

Personally I find TSE X50 a really solid sim. Gate->TSE 808->TSE X50->some nice IR's->slight eq to cut the problem frequencies.

LePou's LeCto and nick crow's 8505 do well for amp sims.

Definitely get God's Cab, the impulses library is vast and very flexible.

There are great free amp sims out there (Lecto,Lextac,X50,X30,Legion etc) and tons of great free impulses (GuitarHack,Catharssis,God's Cab,Asem to name a few).

I can't believe that someone with a decent soundcard and guitar used the The808->AmpSim->Impulse and couldn't create a good tone
