MetalAges headquarters for sale! (Northern Virginia)

work hard, get a real career and you'll be able to live in a 300 - 400 K house by the age of 27-30

it's not exactly difficult anyways, a man making 60 grand a year with a wife making 30 grand a year can easily live that sort of a lifestyle...

edit: hell, if you're 25 and married and each of your are bringing in 40 k a year, you can afford that sort of a lifestyle.
That's rare in my area, people that make that kind of combined income here are considered "rich", I honestly am surprised to see some of you travel so far on vacations, my family could never do that, they probably make a combined 40 K, I feel lucky I'm even getting enough loans to go to college for 4 years, if I didn't have loans I wouldn't be going.

or you could marry someone who is financially succesful, both of you can earn about 150 k a year combined, live in a massive house, have absolutely everything you ever wanted, save enough money to retire by age 45/50.

So lets get this straight... you and your wife destroy your health and souls working your asses off until 50. THEN you start enjoying your life. When you're 50. And look like grampa simpson.

Total opposite here. Anyone not taking in 200k a year here is considered poor. As much as I enjoy the perks of being rich, it's fucked up. Bergen County blows hard, selfish sheltered bastards everywhere you look. Not to mention that it's loaded with JAPS (Jewish American Princesses). I liked it when I lived with my poor mom better. At least I wasn't stuck having to chill with fags.

it's basically the same here

my parents bring in 50 - 70 k a year over the last few years and we are on lower part of middle class

the average income here in naperville in over 150,000 per household. The majority of the cities here have average household income of around 80-150 thousand, several are over 200,000.

There are neighborhoods some of my buddies live at, where houses START at 300-400 grand and go up to 2 million.

So lets get this straight... you and your wife destroy your health and souls working your asses off until 50. THEN you start enjoying your life. When you're 50. And look like grampa simpson.

150 grand between 2 people isn't that much. Any decent career in any decent company where you work at for 8 - 12 years, you will be making at least 80 - 100 thousand. Expecting your wife to make 50 thousand a year is not exactly outrageous.

Being a shallow money/appearance obsessed wanker FTL.

I dunno if I am money obsessed, I'd say I am success obsessed but that's more about my competitiveness than anything else.

Making 150 grand a year is only interesting to me because a very small percentage of people do it. If everybody in the US made 150 thousand a year (hypothetically speaking), then that 150 grand a year would not be interesting to me at all.

furthermore, the money is more of a means of comfort for me than anything else. I'm currently making about 20 -25 thousand a year as an 18 year old but this is only important for me because it allows me to do everything I want to do without ever really worrying about that I can't afford x thing or I can't afford y thing. I can go to any concert I want, I can go to sports events i want, I can easily pay for college and pay for a car that I really want, etc... I don't even think about it, I just do what I have to do at work then enjoy myself when I get home.

I want to live my life never ever worrying about bills or debts. Life is too fucking short to be concerned over that.

as far as looks goes, I bodybuild out of passion not vanity. I like to look pretty decent but I don't see a big deal about that.

Bullshit.

My stepdad has been working at Art Van for nearly 15 years and only makes 50k a year.

My mom makes like 15k a year.

Fuck you and your whole "Blah blah do this and be happy and enjoy life."

65k between two people, to be used on four people, and guess what darlin' (aside from my recent bitchiness) we're happy as can be.

that's a pretty mediocre career TBH and an exception (not the rule). The average lawyer with just 5 years of experience is making 122 k a year.

assuming you are at least above average at what you do, any decent career in business world/banking/finance/stocks etc... will have you making 80 - 100 k within 8-12 years. This is basically common sense, so I'm not sure what you are arguing.

I am glad you guys are happy, I never said you need money to be happy. You do what you do, I do what I do and we'll both be happy :)

All the money in the world can't buy respect. I respect poor people. The rich can die. Not out of jealousy, but out of pure contempt for thier phony personalities, stupid idealogies and gay ass expectations. "Rich" and "Metalhead" don't sync up so well.

>_> He does deliver furniture though, so that may be a reason for the exception. He was going to school to become a lawyer, but stopped to let his (then) wife go, and whatever.

Oh well. 65k a year total is enough to get us by with HD cable, food in our fridge, high speed internet, 4 computers in the house, a PS2, Wii, HD big screen TV, decent birthdays and Christmases, etc.

So really so long as you make that much in a state with a shitty economy like Michigan :p you're well off.

I could live a lifetime in their world (rich) but they couldnt last 1 hour in a poor person's world.... btw Hell Awaits.. weren't you making 15K last month? that's one hell of a raise there...
