Even with my ears being dead, I feel as if the bass is sitting a little too harsh in the 3-5k range and the low end overall might be a bit tubby. The band was a bit rough with tracking and the guitar had a Duncan-Designed in it so it came out spongy. I tried my best to salvage it, but the tone isn't quite where I want it. Lemme know what you guys think!

Best,
Daniel

Sounds pretty brutal to me. Guitars do indeed sound a bit weird, maybe cut some more low mids ( ? ). Bass sticks out like a sore thumb imo, but some people really like that. Overall I dig the song and the production.

€: I like the drums, kick is perfect, not too clicky but still audible.

Thanks so much for the input, guys! I'm so-so on the kick sound, but the guitars definitely take up a little too much sonic real estate. Appreciate the pointers!

I agree the bass doesn't really blend into the mix that well. Think there's something a bit wrong with the levels, can't really pinpoint what though. Guitar tad too loud maybe? Sounds sweet apart from that!

Sorry for the delayed reply! Been crazy busy and the guitars have since been lowered and the bass a little less round on the bottom. The high end of the bass tone grew on me.

As for vocal processing, I generally use rcomp and urs channel pro for staged compression and some tape simulation. For vocal distortion I used nomad's blue tube distortion and cubase roomworks for the verb.

less gain + on headphones some mutes are clipping at the intro, well according tot eh headphones im listening on, but sounding sweet.

I buy it! Haha, this mix was clipped pretty hard.

Thanks for the kind words, all! This forum has been a huge source of inspiration, guidance, and insight. This place is truly priceless for an aspiring engineer.
