Metalcore mix

Hi, I'm mixing young Czech metalcore band. They are not very experienced yet, so their playing is not very tight and I had only few hours to set up the mix. Do you think that sound is ok? Or what are the worst flaws on this mix?

really massive sounding wall of guitars.
its a little washy - means its not super clear what the guitars are doing, but this might fit the style.

playing sucks big time ;-) but you already mentioned that.

also the limiting on the 2bus might be a little too much, hihat is very annoying / aggressive. maybe automate that down.
vocals are cool (sonically)!

Thank you, you are right about that hihat. Limiting on 2nd bus is a bit more agressive, but I compared it to some references from this gengre (Augustus Burns Red for example) and I found way more squashed tracks

hehe, yeah, but dont give in to the loudness war my friend! ;-)
there is some horrible mastering going on in metal ;-)
for great mastering listen to gojiras way of all flesh. i also must say that sturgis mastering is cool. its loud as hell, but not squashed as fuck , hehe!

mastering is too loud, when you feel like turnign down the music.
mastering is great, if you fell like turning the music up!

well, unfortunatelly I'm allready in the loudness war -the less experienced musicians the more loudnes they want ))
