Freedom or Fire?

We like to make it a point here not to bore you with the not-so-exciting business aspects of making and sharing music, but we're so psyched about our new adventure that we just had to tell you about it as we officially launch our very own record label, Blackened Recordings.

Some of you, who have followed along throughout the years, are aware that in 1994 we renegotiated our contract with the Warner Music Group, which resulted in a joint venture with our record company for releasing all of our recordings including long form videos. Per that agreement, as of today we have taken ownership of all of our master recordings and Blackened Recordings will be the home of all of our current albums and videos along with all future releases including the December 10 release of the "Quebec Magnetic” DVD and Blu-ray.

You may have heard us say it once or twice or a thousand times before, but it's always been about us taking control of all things 'Tallica to give you 110% on every single level every single time. Forming Blackened Recordings is the ultimate in independence, putting us in the driver's seat of our own creative destiny. We're looking forward to making more music and getting it all out to you in our own unique way.

Blackened Recordings? That's awesome. I wonder what kind of bands they'll sign? Should be interesting.

Ha ha ha...what MDex said. Metallica would regain credibility for me if they took some of the new thrashers out on tour or signed them to their label. Imagine this...Vektor, Evile and...fucking Metallica..on a 50 state U.S. tour. And Metallica is only allowed to play songs from their first three albums!

Do people still actually enjoy Metallica? I don't see what makes them more appealing than 99% or every other thrash metal band? Can you even compare Metallica's recent work to Testament or Exodus?

Face it. Metallica has paved the way for the worms and zombies. Sure they put out some crap records but so does everybody else. Some bands sound like they put out the same album twice at least Metallica is not good at doing that.

Well i'm talking about NOW, sure they had 2-3 decent thrash albums but they still don't compare to even the new records of much less popular bands.

I like Death Mag because it's not properly labeled Thrash. It's a fuck you in the face of the metalheads that have to have their metal categorized or it just is no good to them. It's a big middle finger to those people, and I admire Metallica for doing that and not worrying about people that don't get the perfect album that was embedded into their imaginations.

Are you fucking high? It was a album to make money, period.
