Not thrash, no, but it was a solid heavy metal album. But I can see why some wouldn't like it.

Just because they keep getting good bass players, and the fact that they are better than the best of rest of the members, doesn't make Hetfield Hammett, and Ulrich better.

Retarded opinion?

Dummy.

It's my preference, and it can be whatever I want it to be, and typically it is a reaction and not a choice. It's also not 100%, but just a general preference. Every song/situation is different, and is judged individually.

For me what I dislike most in this category is lyrics about sex. I would rather not hear about it in music, especially when it gets at all graphic. That's my preference.

Relationships and love are another issue. Not a big deal to me, but I don't see them fitting in to most stuff I like. They seem more suited to goth influenced stuff. Maybe also whatever it is that you call bands like Opeth. Possibly doom, but mostly doom with goth influence. I generally dislike goth.

Load is a damn good hard rock album. It has some metal tingers, but it definitely isn't metal. Songs like Bleeding Me and King Nothing make that album great

Bleeding Me is awesome. Load and Reload were definitely great albums. Not metal, but still badass.

The first thing I thought when I read the name of the album was "Wow, what a bad title." I actually think it's worse than St. Anger and Load, Reload, everything. At least Load and Reload were quick and simple. Metallica usually don't do these kind of noun-adjective album titles. An omen perhaps; but whether it's good or bad, I can't say.

Jesus Christ that riff freakin' rules. If all the songs are like that then this album will be freaking great.

^ pretty retarded opinion imo. I'd take thoughtful lyrics about love over your typical crappy metal lyrics any day.

Yeah but I'd take thoughtful metal lyrics over the 100 billion crappy typical relationship lyrics that most bands use, eh?

I've got nothing against relationship lyrics (Tom Petty's one of my all-time faves), but people use that material as a crutch to write truly terrible lyrics. At least with typical "hail Satan" lyrics there are only a so many thousand other bands doing that, whereas if you do a bad job on writing relationship lyrics, you're in line with pretty much every terrible pop artist for the last several decades.

peace

Who cares about the album title?
If Kirk Hammet solos and Ulrich uses a real drumkit this time it's already a huge step up from St. Anger. Then if they take Kirk's wah away and Hetfield doesn't whine constantly about Sweet Amber we actually have a decent album.

Metallica has sucked for almost 20 years so ofcourse it's going to suck. I am not going to bother hearing one song.
