Metric Halo 2882

Hi! Is it possible to use a Metric Halo 2882 to record high gain guitar? I've heard that the unit is good for clean sound only..but i dont know if its true or not. If it really sucks to record metal, i would be glad if someone could reccomend a really good soundcard that will be perfect for dark music

it's just an interface. changing the sound engineer makes a lot bigger impact on the recording.
