Michael Jackson passes

Yeppers, we were watching it on CNN. Seems he had a cardiac arrest, and EMT's were unable to revive him.

He was so screwed up physically that I am surprised he lasted this long. He also had skin cancer and was addicted to painkillers. All his plastic surgery did him no favors, not to mention all the stress he was under the last few years, some of it self-inflicted. Now, he can finally rest peacefully. Requiesence en Pace.

I kind of feel for Farrah Fawcett's family. She, in her own right, was an icon. Unfortunately, her death will be glossed over as everyone takes one last peek into the freak show tent that Michael Jackson's life had become.

Too young for both of them.

I feel sorry for Farrah Fawcett's family (suffering from cancer is so painfully bad - my mother died of cancer). I also feel for Ed McMahon's family as well (though 86 is a respectful year to pass away).

However regarding MJ - I feel for his children, but I'm so glad that the most famous child molester has passed away. It's sad that his children are now without their father, but I could not stand the guy after he (allegedly) molested a number of young boys. Sorry, I'm not sad to see him go. The last 10-15 years of his life he was a walking freak show. How anyone stood by him is beyond me. Good riddance MJ.

I think the freak show tent will be wide open soon. Definately too young for both...

Farrah Fawcett had her own freak-show life going on, unfortunately.

Unfortunate end for both of them.

Nothing compares to MJs.

So I guess my bid to sponsor him for next year's ProgPower isn't happening.........

Damn, you stole my joke!

John Ritter and Johnny Cash died the same day earlier this decade. Altho neither had contraversial history like MJ and Farrah, you could say they kind of stole a bit of eachothers spotlight by dying on the same day.

Thriller was pretty much my 1st favorite cassette tape as a kid. The man could sing. rip.

Within the narrow confines of pop, he was a genius, and his music was its own brand of progressive for those who really listened. The 'real' MJ died a long time ago, but, its a tragedy nonetheless.

In the last 50 years, only ten stories have been sent with a Flash priority tag on the AP newswire.

MJ's confirmed death in LA was that tenth story.

I'm not a huge fan, and he had a lot of problems including alleged pederasty, but I would never wish death on anyone (well, except maybe bin Laden and his ilk) and at one time, let's face it, MJ was arguably THE most popular/famous person on the planet, immensely successful both here and abroad.

In Pace Requiscat.

I've been up for two hours already this morning, with my customary World News on the tube. Not one word about Farrah. Not one.

The world is a safer place tonight.

How does MJ's death make the world a safer place? He didn't ride around in a van looking for wayward children to pick up and molest. The "victims" parents took their children to his house and left them there to sleep in the same bed with an adult they didn't really know.

I Just heard this one.

When Farrah Fawcett arrived at the Pearly Gates earlier, Peter said that she could have one wish and that God would grant it for her. She wished that all the children in the world would be safe!
