Michael Kiske picks his favorite albums of 2008

If it's such a huge deal, why bother posting it here? It can almost be considered a non-metal topic other than the fact that he was briefly involved with Helloween and other sporadic projects.

His "briefly involvement" with Helloween gave the world some of the most precious Metal albums ever recorded.

I'm pretty sure that he did listen to at least a few metal bands. In fact, I can think of a few that he had definitely heard before recording his music.

Not this again.
Motorhead and Sabbath were his chief influences as far as metal goes. He says he enjoyed shitting on Voivod in interviews despite never having actually heard them, but someone sent him a bunch of Voivod albums and he really liked them. Around Hammerheart the drummer got into Manowar, which is why he uses that Manowar-ish beat a lot.

I don't see how this persons favorite picks of albums from 2008 is any different than any of yours or anyones. OMG his picks/taste is different and not yours!!!.... what a poser!

people have different taste or favorite albums, who would have thought ?

This is a metal forum, none of his favorite albums are metal. Therefore this guy is a pussy

It's not really his or anyones problem that it's being posted here on a metal-forum in the wrong forum section. Honestly what is the point of this or these threads and regardless you could listen to those albums and they could be your favorites and you could still listen to what people considered 'kvlt metal' on this forum so again what is the point in these threads.

It's just funny how not one album he mentioned was metal, and how much of a cocksucker this guy has become in the last few years. Also, Helloween was NOT a good band.

Who the fuck cares if not a single album he mentioned is metal? did you passed the part where it says that he doesn't like metal? jesus christ.

Helloween was a great band in their early days, but they suck now. Kiske is an amazing singer, but has always been a douchebag.

1. Helloween WAS a good band in the days of 'Walls Of Jericho' and the 'Keeper 1 & 2' albums
2. Kiske was and still is a great vocalist
3. i don't care about his favourite albums and his musical taste at all, BUT having an album of the lousy Oasis as an album of the year is laughable...

lol @ WAIF believing everything Quorthon says.

You are a fucking moron, when are you going to realize this?

Anyone who thinks that he didn't hear Venom by the time he recorded his second album at least is kidding themselves. "Born for Burning" make it pretty obvious. ;)

For someone who hated early Metallica, he sure didn't have a problem borrowing ideas from them.
