 Well, some of you may know that I'm in the military and currently in a Deployed location.

I've been deployed since January and was supposed to leave in early June. Just got news today that I will be extended an extra 30 days!!! Just thought I'd vent to you all, it's very frustrating!

I was deployed with a crew of 4. One of our guys got sent home cause his father had a heart attack. Since then we've been working with just the three of us. Today we were notified that one of us would have to stay an additional 30 days, we received no details to why exactly...

Well the other two have significant others so I volunteered since I'm single. It just doesn't make sense cause there are replacements coming and we have managed with only 3 so why can't the new crew???

Anyways, no sense on crying about it. Just thought I'd fill you guys in and vent a little.

As a veteran I can say, "That's the military for you."

Of course, when I tried to re-enlist about 5 years or so ago, Donald Rumsfeld had passed the resolution through all the services that any veterans who'd been out of active duty for more than 6 years were no longer eligible for re-enlistment, regardless of their re-enlistement status.

Considering the ways that so many of our fighting men and women are being shafted as of late with extended deployments, stop loss, etc., I'd like to thank Mr. Rumsfeld for this short-sightedness. :D I'm currently happy at my new job working with the police agencies.

Yeah I hear ya, I actually like the Military but you know things like this can be hard to swallow sometimes. Whatever though I'll get through it. I also thought about pursuing law enforcement.
