With a song based on a big movie, what processes did you go thru to get permissions, copyrights, etc... I have a song in progress based on a big sci fi type movie, but before I let it out to the public I wanna be sure no one's gonna come after me for it...

Let's just say we went ahead and used the sample, without checking with proper authorities. Being an unknown act in the public eye, we weren't scrutinized for using it.
