The only other times it has been done, it was to a 2:1 scale and by making it 4:1, it's more life-like.
I do have a life so it's going to take me about a year or so to do it all.
For any other minecraft users, what's the biggest thing you've constructed and how long did it take?
Before this, the biggest I've built was a floating castle, but it was only something like 30 blocks, squared.
The space required for Kanto is about 1500 blocks squared. ;]
