misanthropy vs philanthropy

I think most of us get what misanthrope means, but since the question was one or the other rather than 'are you a misanthrope / someone who only hates his family and thinks everyone else is just gay and lying / someone who deeply suspects every one is evil but is hiding it well / someone who deeply suspects everyone is really nice deep down but is hiding it equally well' etc., etc, then we just picked one to save time. I don't hate humanity, I can just see why we could be considered a cancer on the planet, and were we all to die horribly at once I wouldn't consider it terribly unjust.

as in, which way from center do you lean. In that case, I lean to misanthrope.

Yeah, fotmbm, I think you're spot on there. Doomcifer and J aren't even close to being misanthropes, hell, they've both got friends and even girlfriends/wives. Misanthropes don't socialize with vermin such as lowly human beings.

LOL... Well, I am a philanthropist to friends/family and a total misanthrope to others. There are a helluva lot more others than my friends/family so, of the TWO, I'd have to pick misanthrope. EVERY time I try otherwise, I am completely disappointed.
