Misleading band names/cover art/band photos/etc

what bands struggled to get noticed by the right crowd because first impressions were so misleading? which band did you avoid checking out for years because you thought they were something completely different? who plays harsh evil black metal but looks like they ought to be playing prancing neofolk with ukeleles, whose cerebral prog metal is belied by the grotesque brutal death cover art, which manly old school doom band looks like it'll be weepy goth metal for anorexic teenagers?
