Mixing Outdoors!

I know this probably sounds ridiculous but what effect would mixing in a silent open area outdoors that contained no natural reverb have on your mix? Would it be detrimental to the mix or would it work by not having to deal with the acoustics of a room?

I know what your saying but in the real world it would depend on which way the winds blowing

Your right. The wind would have a definite effect. But lets say there was next to no wind.

I remember being told that an empty field with no wind would be the prefect mixing environment. The person who told me that might have been stoned at the time....

most studios I know have plenty of wind going on....

I believe pea soup induced winds have nothing on heat induced winds.

On a serious note.... Unless you regularly listen to music in spaces without walls (or doors and windshields), you're probably not gonna want to mix outside.

But it would make for cheap studio time...
