mixing problems

[Onset to putrefaction]

Hey guys whats up?! i haven't posted here in a while, but i was wondering.. is there any like... real solid tips to get your kick and bass to come out of the subwoofer? i was listening to Thrice - artist in the ambulance and the kick is RIDICULOUS, but it seems like my mixes just cant get that kick punch , nor a clear bass guitar .. the new miss may i that joey did has a ridiculous kick too!

i am using slate samples

here is one of my mixes, PODXT , real drums with slate on snare and kick, i can only do bass direct into my interface since i can't pay for a separate bass pre amp http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/30168-sawnmaster.mp3
the kick just isnt... clear enough???

any tips that really might help? something you guys do?

Yeah it is very backgroundy... What happens if you simply turn it up? It may be a matter of EQing and compressing (perhaps multiband) the lower woof you will get from cranking it excessively.
