I'm only 16 years old and really new to recording, I have been doing this for only 7 months or so and I have taught myself pretty much everything besides some help from online forums. I wanted some input from you guys on UM to see if I could get some more out of my recording!

SONG: http://www.purevolume.com/MiseryLovesCompany81312

Bare with me if it's not your genre of music.. I just do this for fun and I love every moment I spend playing music.

I just want tips! Maybe some opinion on how it sounds overall.

I listened to your track though and I think it sounds damn good considering the amount of time you have been recording man, keep it up... try hosting your stuff on dropbox and posting a higher fidelity MP3 because the encoding on purevolume is definitely affecting the sound of your mix

Thank you very much! haha. I wana work as producer one of these days so I'm doing my best to start early and learn a bit. My highschool doesn't offer anything on audio engineering so I'm kinda stuck. Dropbox? I'll deffinantly do that next time. I wasn't sure where to post the song so I just had a friend recommend me to purevolume.
But I appreciate the input man. Means a lot!

really good mix man. the opening guitar really made the transition into full band sound huge.

what did you use for guitar and drums? are those slate samples?

Thank you (:
For the guitar I used a Schecter C1+ (I woulda used my PRS Mira but it was outa commission at the time) and then I hooked it into a tube pre amp, and then POD farm. Idk if you would want the settings for that... haha. Then some gating, eq's, and a tad of reverb. Double tracked rhythm guitars.

For the drums I did use Steven Slate Drums. I used the "cracky metal kit" ? pretty much the default settings on that. If I had drum mics, firewire and a good audio interface I would tried incorporating my own drums into it... but seeing that I have no money I couldn't do that (:
