Mixing tuition - does anyone here do online tutorials?

Nolly (RedSeasFire) offers lessons, not 100% sure if he offers complete mixing lessons and so on, but I know
that he offers guitar lessons and I am pretty sure that he does some mixing stuff through bandhappy, too.

I have been thinking of doing this too actually. Just tested doing it via Skype. Skype lets you share screens and audio is ok, probably good enough if the connection is good. I plugged in a small mixer so I can talk and share audio and screens in real time. Wanted to find someone to help me test the experience. Need to set up a curriculum. Was thinking of sending recipients say 16 tracks and then mixing it with them so they can see how the mix is set up. And then they can try to duplicate it at home. But I just started thinking about this about a week ago. Suggestions are welcome.

Probably going to do a real live workshop at Trident Studios soon, that will be more formal and useful but the Skype way might be cool. Or if anyone has any suggestions as to how to set this up better, I'm all ears.

Cheers,

Colin

honestly, with all of the info that's available on this forum and others for free, i would never pay anyone for mixing lessons over the internet

in person is one thing...assuming it's in a truly professional environment, and with the highest quality signal chain and an experienced engineer teaching you, but you're not going to hear what they're hearing through a skype session!

The idea behind this, at least for me, is to give musicians who are recording at home, with little experience, some basic background. Even though there is a lot online, its so much to go through and there is so much conflicting info, that a newbie can just get lost. And if they have questions, they can't get back answers. I made a "how to" video on heavy metal guitar tone once and its been viewed thousands of times by people who said they never were able to get that info anywhere else and in a concise format. So I know the need is there, I just want to set it up right. Want to get the best audio/video connection and am looking for other options besides Skype.
