Does anyone have a schematic of the additional tubestage mod in a JCM800?

You might be able to get the gain you want without adding another gain stage. Just changing a few resistors in your existing gain stages (lower values should give you more gain), and maybe a cap in the tone stack can make a huge difference (good or bad).

Adding a gain stage is a pretty advanced mod. Best of luck!

The Royal Airforce Engineering College basic electronic instruction manual from 1970ish.

With my dads graffiti all over it from when he originally did the course haha

About adding a gain stage: It's not a big deal to me 'coz I'm a electronic technican and I had worked many years in a electronic company in the R&D department.

And to Hopkins, yeah, electronics can be very addictive.

I'm gonna do some more searching for instructions if I can get people to stop making me do work over here. Jeez.

Hehe....right now I've to much to do in studio and live, but next time I will try some of these tips from the tone-lizard site. I'll report about the results then.
