Bias Mod for Mk1 5150?

Oh BTW the color code thing, I had to get a color blind test to get hired whre I'm at , just to make sure I don't screw up the resistor values. So it is a serious issue with electronics.

I looked at the 5150 schematics and they're kind of goofy looking, incomplete. But guitar amps are all essentially the same. Follow from the control grids back to the supply to find where the potentionometer needs to go.

Oznimbus I did the mod for my 5150 mark1 months ago.
Well I can say that people who told you that there's a huge difference, they just told you a big bullshit, that's so untrue.
I did the mod on my peavey, recorded clips, posted here and nobody heard a big difference.
Just big bullshits.
Anyway it's good having the pot for the bias adjustment just to have the tubes working in a good way.
On the 5150 if you want to remove the buzz, you have to mod the preampsection of the amp.
Anyway I don't hear that buzzy tone that a lot of people claim, I mean I can hear it just at bedroom levels.
Bias adjustment can't make the 5150 sound warmer.

Well, I'm getting the mod done tomorrow, I'll have to keep your comments in mind.
However, I noticed a big difference just from switching my Sovtek power tubes to JJs.


Do you have a link to those comparison clips?
