Modern Rock Bands?

So where have the rock bands gone? Or is it all this Kings of Leon/One Republic/generic indie crap now?

Rock and Roll is dead. "Modern Rock Music" is synonymous to me with "posturing". It's like the idea of mainstream gangsta rap.

There may be one or two exceptions to this I guess...I could consider King's X to be a rock band but they're not exactly modern either.
