there! i said it!

ok so black op's single player campaign is AMAZING and the crossbow and motion sensor are cool but WTF is the deal with those zombies levels instead of special ops?! it doesn't matter how good you are! eventually, you will die!

and why are there no ranks in the MP game?! and all weapons are automaticaly unlocked?! it's not interasting! simply not!

it's like for 2 years they have been thinking: "hey, MW2 is good! how can we make it worse? let's see...."

I ruined my Black Ops like 5 days after I got it for XMas.....Xbox was standing on its side, and I knocked it over accidentally with the game in it, running.....put a nice score all the way around the center of the disc, and it will no longer work. But, from what I gathered in a few days playing time, I enjoyed the game but not as much as MW2. Online play....seemed constantly slight laggy and It seems you could kill and be killed way easier than in the previous games. They took away some of the Killstreak rewards and some of the weapons are cool and all. the local multiplayer / bots thing is cool ..... but maybe I just need to get another copy and play with it some more.

Fuck that, Zombies is the best part of the CoD franchise IMO. Wasted so many nights drunkenly playing it with my friends, great times.

Sticks and Stones and Gun Game are also fucking ace!

+11111

I didn't play zombies until I got BO even though I own WaW (never even played it :goggly:), but damn something about it makes me come back for more time and time again.

I recently popped MW2 back in just to check it out since I have only been playing BO since it came out. Feels so different, totally do NOT miss the lame ass killstreaks in MW2 that stack on top of each other and make the game completely not fun to play when some dickhead is just killstreaking over and fucking over and over again. Also, the aircraft in MW2 are way more brutal than in BO, in BO it's actually tolerable. The achievements to unlock perks in BO, like Marathon Pro, are almost ridiculous, it took forever to capture 15 flags - many hours of frustration ensued during that adventure. Overall though I feel like BO is a much better game. Tomahawk, crossbow, zombies and wager matches just own MW2, personally.

It's been a long time since I capped on rank but I don't think the weapons are unlocked from the start... if I remember correctly you still have to reach a certain level BEFORE you can buy the weapon. Like crossbow is unlocked at level 34 or something, Commando (M4) is at like 40 or some shit.

I logged tons and tons of hours in MW2 multiplayer, but I definitely prefer it in Cod Blops - the omission of Stopping Power was the smartest thing they could have done, now IMO the amount of damage it takes to down an opponent is perfect. Also, I like how all of the AR's seem to have more muzzle jump from recoil than in MW2, so no more long range rapid fire ownage at the hands of the ACR, SCAR or even M4 in MW2 - now, you really have to fire in short bursts at a distance, makes things much more tense in a good way IMO. I do still miss the Commando perk though, and I wish the Cobra KS reward didn't suck so much :(

And I haven't once experienced any unfair lag on my 360 btw.

Well they could fix the knife, because its so fuckin lame that you can stab a guy standing like 5meters away :S. And the claymore radious could be shorten, sometimes you see it but its to late even if you stand quite a bit away from it.

And they should fix the fuckin IRRITATING in-game buffer which makes me, with a good internet connection get more IN-GAME latency then people with worse internet connection.

I thought MW2's multiplayer sucked pretty hard.. then again, i am looking at it from a "pro-gamer" perspective and not the typical "just for fun"-gamer.
That they gave all the weapons from start is just a good thing imo(Again looking at it from a "pro-gamer" perspective.), but i dont see why they couldn't have both as 2 different gametype options.

And looking at it from a developers perspective i cant say that im surprised that black ops sucks in comparison, as not a single person from the team behind the modern warfare series has been involved.

To me there's not a single "serious" multiplayer game in the entire COD-series(Perhaps COD 1-2.).
All this with unbalanced weapons, killstreaks, that bad players get punished by not getting as good weapons as the better players etc. all make for a terrible multiplayer game in the large picture.
Sure it might be fun to unlock new weapons, gain killstreaks etc. but in the end its just fun the first time you get to try your new weapon/killstreak, and as a whole it just demolishes the entire gameplay.

My personal opinion is that all should be equals in a multiplayer game, and the only thing that should set players apart is pure skill.
.. god i love Quake.

Are you really a professional gamer? My girlfriend's cousin's new boyfriend is a pro gamer apparently , he plays mostly in Halo tournaments or something.

Used to be semi-pro(Insurgency, CS and Q3 waaaaaay back.).. now days i just cant take computer games seriously enough to stay pro, you have to play at LEAST 4 hours a day to stand a chance.
And the scene of modern pro-gaming completely sucks, its not about skill anymore, its all money.

Pro-gaming then:

Pro-gaming now:

Still very talented players, but the games keeps getting dumbed down.. Personally, i liked how games used to be because all components where taken in consideration when making a game: You had to have lightning fast reflexes, aim, moves and tactics to win a match.

Now its been dumbed down: Quake players spam rockets and nades around the corners to prevent the opponents to move in the direction of key items.. and thats just about it really, sure, if both opponents are "stacked"(Fully armored and armed.) its all down to the best player, but generally it seems to be about getting a lucky first spawn(The first one to get RA wins the match.).

"Back in the days" you had to do all this AND know the jumps, being able to pull of 180 flick shots etc.
Now im just using Quake as an example, mostly because its the game that has been dumbed down the most.. but its happened everywhere in the gaming industry, and it annoys me as hell.

Im surprised how many people don't know this. There are 2 game developers switching off between Call Of Duty games because the publisher (Activision) wanted to pump them out faster than one developer could. The original developer, Infinity Ward, was not very happy when Activision brought in Treyarch to develop under the Call Of Duty name and so created the Modern Warfare series to differentiate their games from the Treyarch games. The studios are sort of in a competition with each other, and this accounts for the difference between games released back to back. So the real sequel to modern warfare 2 will be modern warfare 3, not black ops. How good that sequel will be is up in the air because after modern warfare 2, Infinity Ward lost alot of very important employees and is in a huge legal battle with Activision. Heres a list of who did what:

Call Of Duty - Infinity Ward
Call Of Duty 2 - Infinity Ward
Call Of Duty 3 - Treyarch
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare - Infinity Ward
Call Of Duty: World At War - Treyarch
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Infinity Ward
Call Of Duty: Black Ops - Treyarch
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - Infinity Ward (under development for release in 2011, but most likely delayed due to the legal problems with activision)

Damn bro!!! First movie got some serious crazy kills :)

This is how those skills are acquired.

And for those who might enjoy more skill:
Btw, for those of you who might be interested in gaming today: Gopher is Toxic's little brother, who outplayed him in the golden days of Q3-TDM. :)

I think the call of duty genre has produced the most boring games of our time... I haven't played black ops, but I have played every other call of duty before that. Modern Warfare 1 and 2 KILLED me literally... I was bored to death playing them. Maybe I'm getting old.

Pretty much my opinion about the multiplayer.. the single player campaigns of the MW series was insane though.
And i remember having a blast playing COD 1 and 2 on Carentan. :)

ONCE AGAIN: BLACK OPS DOES NOT HAVE ALL THE WEAPONS AVAILABLE FROM THE START.

keep your black ops
