Joint reco thread!

Embrace the fury of the French-Canadian black metal hordes MONARQUE and CSEJTHE (because lets face it, good metal let alone black metal is rarely seen outside of Quebec when it comes to Canada these days).

Had the opportunity to see them live together on April 18th, and they were excellent as expected. The turn-out was pretty atrocious but luckily they'll be coming back in a few months.

I'll get Monarque's album "Fier Hérétique" uploaded at some point later today, as that's definitely worth a listen.

Csejthe's myspace and vids are actually quite good, so if you don't like them based on that, deal with it.

Monarque is fantastic!! I believe they are playing Matchitehew in Chicago alongside Velnias, Marblebog, and others.

Monarque is also the driving force behind Carrion Wraith, one of my most recent releases.

"Thrène" from Sui Caedere, released the same day as "Ad Nauseam" from Monarque back on March 31st is quite good. The album actually features Monarque himself on vocals, and would not be out of place being called a slower tempo version his own band really. They are labelled Black/Doom on MA, doubt I'd go as far as calling it that.
