Monster Mix Studio :D

I'll look around on that place, thanks for the direction :)

Great lookin' Strat man. I need to snag me a body with the burst like yours - THAT is my favorite tobacco burst shade. I may just buy a body off fuckBay, from that Stratosphere guy who apparently is the cat's meow as far as Fender stuff goes on there.

Thanks man!

That is where I got most of my stuff from. Well the essentials like body and bridge. I got a top of the line Fender bridge with a REALLY resonant block.
I got the highway one body.

Let me tell you man...my bridge is pretty much a hardtail on this due to spring tightness. This guitar sustains as much as my Les Paul! I never thought that was possible with strats, but it is and sounds great.

It also has the nitro finish. I checked with some nail polish remover to make sure it was real, hehe.

Alright, had to snap a few of my strat:

Yup, looks like a Strat! :D But I LOVE those birdseyes in the headstock, nice choice! (since you got it from Warmoth, I assume you spec'ed it out). Is that a modern neck (with the double truss ruds, etc.) or a Vintage?

Thanks dude! No, it was actually one of their pre-made ones. I forget what section of the website it was, but it was from their existing inventory.

I'm *pretty* sure I went with the Pro neck, but I ordered it a year or two ago so I'm a bit hazy. :) I do know that it stays in tune great with the Sperzel locking tuners and sustains like a motherfucker.

Love this axe! I also don't mind when I dent my strat. I won't intentionally abuse it, but it's meant to be played hard so I don't mind giving it some battle scars.

There's one thing that makes or breaks a strat for me (aesthetically) and that's the fingerboard. HAS to be a maple board.

I might pick up a classic 50s strat either in daphne blue or surf green next month:

Dammit Joe, I really didn't need to get into parting my dream Strat.... you bastard! *sigh*

Slash: Hell NO. Rosewood or bust! I know I have two with maple, but I play the one with rosewood more and like it the most ;)

I had a Strat with rosewood board many years ago but ever since I picked up my first Tele with maple board... there's just no way back for me (at least not on a Strat/Tele - everything else = different story).

[Flamesuit]I don't know why, but a rosewood board turns the sexiest Strat into the most generic/boring looking instrument to me. [/Flamesuit]

And the fact that I actually prefer the sound of maple boards makes the deal perfect. I want this thing to be twangy/snappy like there's no tomorrow

you may well not like his playing or the way he presents himself... but Michael is an incredibly nice guy, and so NOT a douchebag. i've met and dealt with douchebags in this business.... and MAB is definitely not among them.

i also met and talked to him at a guitar clinic really nice guy!

Don't worry Slash, I got your back on maple boards! But I hate the ones that are that dark, coffee-stained maple like the above - give me bright, beautiful maple any day! (preferably birdseye) Case in point:

Really, I just hate anything vintage looking, including that coffee-stained white on the knobs and pickup also on the above guitar :ill:

That Charvel is übersexy, too. Played it once then looked at the price tag... and almost fainted.

My Tele has such a bright board like that Charvel, but I dig the stained look a lot, too. And birdseye maple? *drool* The Fender Lite Ash series has these beautiful birdseye necks/boards.

Yeah, all that stained vintage nonsense (both maple neck and knobs/pickup covers) just makes me think of old, crusty white people (probably with soul patches) that reek of cigarette smoke and work at Guitar Center

But honestly, I kinda prefer teles like the Jim Root Tele over Strats! (though super strats are a WHOLE 'nother story ;))

I prefer Teles over Strats too, but there's enough love left to hopefully pick up a Strat again soon.

8 years ago, I wouldn't have believed I'll ever like these thingies again. I thought a Strat is the most boring guitar, right next to a Tele.

I'm getting old...

Well I guess we can all say what we want about strats, but let's at least agree that telecasters are some of the ugliest shit to ever hit the planet...

Never! I love the Tele look, especially the blonde or butterscotch colors. Then again I love blues, classic rock, old 60's-70's prog, just as much as metal so I'm quite different from you guys there.

Marcus, your strat stereotypes are hilarious...nothing like me. :)

The plastic on my strat has a very light "aged" look which I love!

Theory in Practice's Colonizing the Sun was recorded with a heartfield for rythm and strat for leads, so they're totally metal ready imo! I love strats, maple, rosewood, hum, single, trem, hardtail, you name it! Theres something to the tone of a nice strat into a vintage amp that just makes me gooey and want to play all day. I have two strat squiers, my first guitar and a pro tone I picked up a few years back. Ash body, one piece neck obv, alnico pickups, looks gorgeous too! I learnt on my old mans usa strat, but his current jap squier kicks way more ass!

And for the record, in the last 18months I've gone from egh, teles...to, hey, thats a good lookin' guitar! (only to a few though  )

I sanded down my tele just to get rid of that butterscotch colour, it looks like puke, looks much better natural finish now. :)

You speak the truth! Mine sounds great through my Plexi clone.
