The debut by Mork Gryning's Tusen Ar Har Gatt
and was released in 1996 on No Fashion Records. The
cd is 33 minutes and contains 9 tracks. The album
was recorded at Dan Swano's Unisound studio in May
1995 and was mixed and engineered by Dan. So, you know
right off the bat the sound is going to be very
good. Now you want to know, just what does this band sound
like? Well, they are a two piece featuring Goth Gordon
on bass/guitar/acoustic guitar/keyboards/screams and
Draakh Kimera on lead & acoustic
guitar/vocals/keyboards/ drums/screams. Dan makes a special appearance by playing the drums on the song "Dagon", using a stage name of Day DiSyraah which is the same name he used with Pan-Thy-Monium. The lyrics are about the 4 horsemen of the
apocalypse. The music is fast black metal with some
atmospheric elements. It's kinda a straight forward black
metal style and has tons of excellent lead guitar
melodies throughout. The music floats between a fast and
mid pace throughout, which keeps it from getting
boring (there are so many bands that have yet to learn
that lesson!), I've listened to it 11 times in 2 weeks
(twice this morning!) and still am not. The vocals are
the harsh black/death style that you would expect,
but not high pitch really. This album took awhile to
fully grow on me and does have some Dissection
influence throughout. I definitely recommend this to all
black metal fans especially if you are a fan of the
more straight forward sound of the mid-90's. I
now need to get their 2nd album, 1998's Return Fire.
