Most impressive album openings

My Dying Bride- The Dreadful Hours. That first song is just sooo intense and draining. It was worth the price just for that track.

Infestdead- Jesusatan. Nothing like starting off an album with blast beats and a crushing riff- no screwing around.

I always thought Judas Priest had Killer opening songs.

Album-Song
British Steel-Breakin The Law
Point Of Entry-Heading Out To The Highway
Defenders Of The Faith-Freewheel Burning
Turbo-Turbo Lover
Painkiller-Painkiller

Iron Maiden:
Killers-Wrathchild/Murders In The Rue Morgue (#2/3)
Powerslave-Aces High
Somewhere In Time-Caught Somewhere In Time
Seventh Son...-MoonChild

Other INcredible openers
Slayer-Hell Awaits from Hell Awaits
Piledriver-Metal Inquisition from Metal Inquisition
Slayer-Angel of Death from Reign In Blood
Morbid Angel-Immortal Rites from Altars of Madness

Err.. I like the beginning of Guns 'N' Roses - Use Your Illusion II

"What we've got here, is a failure to communicate.." etc. and then starts Civil War, and that song ROCKS!

Also Children of Bodom - Hatebreeber is a dynamic album in every way. Beginning with Warheart; Silent Night, Bodom Night; Hatebreeder....

I find it really hard to believe that some of these haven't been mentioned:

Slayer - Hell Awaits
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremacy
Forbidden - Twisted into Form
Dark Angel - Leave Scars
Nile - The Black Seeds of VengeanceVio-Lence - Eternal Nightmare
Malevolent Creation - Stillborn

Then again, on these albums, I think it's a great flow from beginning to end...

Emperor "Al Svartr" , " Ye Entrenceperium"
Dissection "At Fanthomless Depths" , "Night`s Blood"
Manowar "Achilles Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts"
