So my old Headphones just broke.
i dont mix with headphones, but i though it could be nice to get headphones the have a solid bass response, to get surgical, things it's hard to get on an untreated room.

my budget is about 70$. after reading some posts here i found out the the Sennheiser HD 205 might be a good option.

any other suggestion?

Sorry mate, but I think that 70$ to get surgical with headphones, especially in the low-end, is a bit like asking for a 5 star menu at McDonald's. :/

Save up for a pair of these and you will be much better off: ATH-M50

$149 on [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U"]Amazon.[/ame]

+1 for saving up for ATH-M50s.

don't think there's that much difference in the 70 bucks range, you could probably pick any headphones and they would all be shit

Sony MDR-V6, should be around $75 off Amazon, although on most other online audio shops they're $100+, $88 on eBay, and are better than the ATH-M50 especially in the midrange, you can't go wrong.

I agree that you have to go higher than that if you want headphones for mixing. Like 200-400e is where they start to shine. Anyways... some cheap Sennheiser HD series are around 100e and could be even cheaper. I'd recommend those. What ever you do, don't be a douche bag and fall for the Monster Dre Beats scam headphones. 2c.

i actually dont see a point in investing that much in headphones, or am i wrong? specially if you own monitors.. i just though of getting some pleasent for tracking, but if i get it wrong i will be glad to know :)

Well I own monitors but I trust my headphones way more. To get monitors working properly you need a nice room for the monitors... and of course nice monitors. If were talking about budgets around $70 I guess you don't have $2000 worth of monitors and a treated room? The cheapest and easiest way of doing this is to use headphones. Now... mixing with headphones is not easy if you're used to using monitors but personally I trust my headphones way more than my monitors in this room that has no treatment.

If these headphones are just for tracking it doesn't matter what they are really... spend 10 bucks and buy something useful with the rest. :)

i got a pair of sennheiser hd280's brand new online a few years back for like $60. not the best phones, but they get the job done, and good luck beating them for under $100

So do you guys clsim that 70$ doesnt worth the money? i rather buy shitty 15 bucks headphones? the atm 50 are quite expensive. i already ordered a bass a countrymsn a monotor controller and a pad. so im broke

Save up as suggested or Sennheiser HD212's Always been reeeeally impressed by mine, love them for tracking especially. See if you can find an NOS pair or used pair, as they've been discontinued apparently.

Do you have some form of monitoring for now? I'd highly recommend saving up and getting something suggested here. The last thing you want is to cheap out and buy something unbalanced and that doesn't translate well just because you wanted to save a few bucks.

So save up and aim for something you can hold on to for a while and trust ^_^

Yup i monitor eith active tapco monitors. i have also dynaudio in the studio but for metal stuff i work at home. i wasnt thinking of getting heafphones to mix with, but sonething to track with and enjoy it..

Go DIY! Wooden enclosure, closed back. Would slay almost any $200 ape shit on the market.

Check out Audio Asylum or DIY Audio Projects for resources.

I also recommend building a stand-alone headphone amp. FYI, you should be plugging that into the "Line out", not the "Headphone out"

of course you get what you paid for to an extent. i had a pair of headphones i used to mix on that were cheaper then 70 bucks and they were fine. you just have to know them. i knew how those headphones were supposed to sound and i adjusted accordingly. yea everyone would love a pair of headphones that are a couple hundred bucks, but if you are on a budget. its not the end of the world.
i have shitty monitors too. i still make due. just know what you are dealing with.
