So far, I have tested:
MSI: No problem
Gigabyte: No problem
Abit: No problem
Asrock: No problem
And I just finished assembling my new computer with an Asus Mobo. No problem. I updated the Bios with the Asus update Manager... No problem.
Maybe I'm just a lucky bastard.![]()
You know, I keep hearing bullshit about "Oh no, flashing ASUS BIOSes causes the world to end and Abit motherboards kill puppies and MSI funds terrorists HALP!" and things like that... and not once, having installed, used, and recommended hundreds of these, have I run into this problem. Keep in mind that when I build someone a system I guarantee that if something goes wrong due to my incompetence or faulty hardware recommendations my ass will fix it for free and that I follow up with technophobic customers to make sure everything is going fine just in case they're afraid to call.

Fuck, when did flashing bios's become so popular. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
*cough cough* BS *cough cough* ... got any proof for that? Unless you have a motherboard with a locked multiplier and they decide to unlock it in an update, it's not going (or really really highly unlikely) to go faster with a flash anyway (and someone who knows about overclocking wouldn't get one of these motherboards in the first place). Flash's are for when you have stability problems, so ... if it aint broke don't fix it. Or maybe you could point me to some benchmarks where a bios flash has added 2 frames to some shit 3d game no one cares about or maybe it's taken 0.384 seconds off your superPI 1M test.
I agree. But hey, im just bullshitting you, seriously, because I really dont know shit about computers, honestly, I dont
