MOTU 896 Mk III

Hi all,

I'm thinking of upgrading my whole interface from my M-Audio ProjectMix.

It's a decent enough interface but I never use the actual control surface and I need something with better preamps for recording a lot of things but specifically for getting good guitar DI's down and I'm thinking of the MOTU 896 MkIII as it's just in my price range.

Any opinions on this, especially compared to the Projectmix?

I'd buy an RME instead, not that the MOTU isn't good, but RME's are the best interfaces on the planet for not so much money

I had one and it went back. I couldn't get it working with Cubase no matter how hard I tried.

Ahhh I'm a Cubase user as well so that wouldn't be good.

I'll defo check out the RME ones.

Ha I've got an 828mk3 and ultralite mk3 and use cubase/reaper. Never had any problems.
