What do you guys think of it. I got a Tascam portastudio 4 track an i hate it. Tape sucks so i'm upgrading to digital. I want to know if it's easy to use. i'm open to suggestions for something else in the same price range(about 400 dollars).

Out of curiosity, why do people buy stuff like this? Why not use your computer? I'm not trying to sound like a dick but I've always kind of wondered who buys this stuff and why. I'm sure you've got your reasons but I'd like to hear em.
Recording programs are expensive. i'm only 14 so i'm on a limited buget. I've read about computer recording and you need comp. interfaces and a good computer. I want a studio in a box. I understand your arguement and would like to have a computer recording program but can't aford all the stuff you need to use a computer recording program. The MR-8 seems to be easy to use and learn. I don't want to spend a month learning how to use the program and interface it correctly and all that stuff. I want to keep it simple to start with
