MSN Smilies

They must be somewhere. I'd like to know the same thing. If you could find the location and whole load of them, you could dump them in that folder and have them to use at your leisure. Yeah.

Oh I see. What exactly are .dll files? I know there are lots of them, but what do they do?

Am I interrupting your conversation?

P.S :holy: smilile for the win. Can I get it into MSN?

I don't know the answer, but for what it's worth it won't be a DLL file. DLL stands for "Dynamic Link Library", and they contain the code that you need to run the program (and yes, occasionally the odd picture or two, but they're compiled in). The pictures may well be stored in a binary type file (which means that you won't be able to open them easily) but it would probably be called something other than DLL, like DAT or RES or something like that.

Cool. I was right. I just did a quick Google for you:

They're stored in:

c:\documents and settings\user\application data\microsoft\msn messenger\account number\custom emoticons

Be sure to turn on show hidden files and folders.

You'll need to rename the extensions from .dat to whatever they are. Try .gif first, if they're animated, they'll be .gif .

I guess if they're not .gif, they be either .jpg or .png

Make sure you copy them out of there first.
