MTV2 Top 22 Bands

Anyone here watch this show this weekend?

REM beats OUR favorite band? Dave Matthews Band & Phish? How could there be such a cult following for Phish? I couldn't believe the list. Nirvana #1??? Where was Black Sabbath? Ricki R. said that these bands were voted for by the people. Well, if this is suppose to be a Heavy Metal channel, how come Testament wasn't part of the vote.

I thought I would give MTV2 a chance because I have seen some pretty decent bands playing while channel surfing........but this vote seemed to me to be set-up. Most metal heads I know don't consider Phish a top 10. I would like to know how the f*** the votes were cast. Another waste of two hours of my weekend.

i gave MTV2 a chance and watched the one episode where they featured Over The Wall's video but after that it was just sad... especially how they endorse Metallica... bleh

MTV2 isn't supposed to be an all heavy metal channel. They have some metal shows, but they do a wide range of music on the channel.

~Leaving Black Sabbath out was an atrocity. But then again eMpTyV2 2 viewers voted on this. Headbangers Ball is better than it was but they still play alot of crap.

I'd like to see the list of people that cast their vote. I wonder how people were chosen. Personally, I don't think that the general public voted. That is my opinion.

I have a feeling that Black Sabbath didn't make the cut because they sold everything prior to SoundScan (?). I could be wrong but imagine the coked-up people counting record sales in the late 70's early 80's.
