how are some of you getting such clear recordings? it cant be all in eq'ing? is there anything else that can be done to help clear up recordings? im not running any of my stuff through a power conditioner? is that bad? ahhhh i need help!

andy sneap! haha no like brett had really clear recordings and a few other people ive noticed have some really good sounding stuff

Get it right at the source, pure and simple. There is no substitute for good tracking.

It is possible to make badly recorded tracks sound good (EOR remix for example) but it is much easier to get it right from the start rather than try and fix it later.

if you're talking about guitars you're probably using too much gain. as for everything else; well everything affects everything, so you need good gear, good mic'ing and recording techniques, and good musicians.
