Musical Tastes

Mainly metal and progressive rock. And as with most metal fans I also like classical music, and some jazz. My range is pretty wide. I can listen to stuff as mellow as Marillion and heavy as Nile, and almost everything between. I like alot of styles, but I'm still pretty picky about the bands I like.

Cool to see that you all are very open minded concerning different music genres.
So where can i begin?

When we speak of Metal, i like bands like

Tiamat(old ones),
Dismember
Summoning
Ulver
Kampfar
Sentenced
Borknagar(the first three albums)
My Dying Bride
and above all
Katatonia

Then there are the following bands/songwriters i really like too

Deus(great band imo)
Anywhen(still my no.1 underground advice)

Naervaer
Eels
Embrace

The Notwist

I'm very much into 60/70 style too

Neil Young

So these were only a few of the bands i really like. I only have got 1 classic CD which is by Grieg,only piano,very beautiful but i never found the time to really dive into this genre,the same goes with Jazz.

The music has to give me something,a feeling,it has to catch my interest from the beginning,has to move me. Also i have to say that i am mostly into music based on minor keys.

Mainly old harcore and punk : eg Black Flag (all time fave band?) Minor Threat, Misfits, Husker Du, Big Black
Recently started listening to metal again: mainly Scandinavian stuff...
Also LOVE reggae, dub, REAL ska (any Jamaciam music really)

I tend to listen to mostly metal, but also like a bit of ambient electronic music every so often. Oh, and I like large dollops of cheese every so often so I can laugh my ass off (poison/bon jovi/rhapsody etc etc, cheeeeeeeeeeeeeese!)

I only mentioned a few of the genres I listen to But I am a fan of both NC and MA, especially Nick, as he is amazing
