MXL MPAC-01 - Anyone ever use one of these?

Saw this on Hello Music today. I've never seen or heard one before. Has anyone had any experience with one of these? Maybe is usable as a decent mod platform? Its definitely slutty looking.

Saw this one too. The price is good, but also makes me hesitant to buy it, since we all know how bad cheap pres can be.

Only post I've found that talks much about it is Jace @ AudioMIDI comparing it to a LA-610 at GS, which has me interested:
