so i discovered the magic of boosting an amp, after realizing so many albums i like has that boosted mid sound. i have an engl powerball head.
i saw many here use the maxon od-808 or sd-1.
i have by chanch the mxr doubleshoot distortion. its an overdrive with bass/mid/treble knobs.
i find that it adds something nice to the amp, but i think its overdoing the process, and it adds to much gain i think (i just get feedbacks and lot of noise). has anyone tried it?
can someone point how it is compared to the classic maxon or sd-1? and if those are better, which do you suggest grabbing?
