My attempt at the Killswitch Engage tone

So I isolated the guitar (and a bit of the cymbals too ) from the song "Rose of Sharyn", and panned the track hard right. I played my part and panned the track hard left. KSE right, me left. Please disregard the sloppy playing

Yours sounds a bit more middy with a little less highs. Pretty close though!

Here's the signal chain that I used:

PRS Custom 24 (EMG 81/85 with 18 volt mod) > Maxon OD808 > Voodoo Modified Bogner Uberschall (Revision 2) > Bogner Uberkab > modern Sm57 placed on a Celestion Vintage 30 between where the dust cap and speaker cone meet, one inch off the grill > Presonus Firestudio Project.

Good tone dude, I think that yours is a little looser than the originals too, give it some more juice on the way into the preamp.

I have a Maxon OD808 in front of the amp, and I totally agree with you. That said, do you think that less master volume and more preamp volume would tighten things up? Or do you think that less preamp and more master would tighten the tone? I think that the gain is set where I like it - tight, but still thick enough.
