well, most venues allow you access to record from the soundboard, and you just need some DV cameras and a few buddies to film it. editing it is easy with the right interface

Nah, there's no pressure to do anything except improve as a band. Everything else will happen naturally, including quality video footage

Side note... believe it or not, I still haven't even seen the video that aired on that TV show. They had one tiny video monitor in that studio and one of the camera ladies was standing right in my line of sight. They also only had one audio monitor so I couldn't hear Paul's guitar AT ALL, but Dan's was way loud. How was the sound quality? Could you hear both guitars? Was the video editing tacky or done well?
