My band is gonna be on TV tonight.

Thanks!

Nah, there's no pressure to do anything except improve as a band. Everything else will happen naturally, including quality video footage :)

Side note... believe it or not, I still haven't even seen the video that aired on that TV show. They had one tiny video monitor in that studio and one of the camera ladies was standing right in my line of sight. They also only had one audio monitor so I couldn't hear Paul's guitar AT ALL, but Dan's was way loud. How was the sound quality? Could you hear both guitars? Was the video editing tacky or done well?

From what I remember, I audio quality was pretty good. I liked the video editing, too. Get ahold of that video. That would make for some excellent footage for the website and myspace.

They want $500 for video of the entire performance (our full set). We'd rather use that money to help with the album. We got the show TiVo'd, so we'll be able to get it online eventually.

$500.. wtf? just wtf? Yeah, use that Tivo footage. You could film one of your performances and have the same quality for the price of 3 or 4 MiniDV tapes and your own time for editing the footage together.

Precisely. It was hard to keep a straight face when they told us that price.

edit: Also, our performance at that show paled in comparison to the show we did at El Corazon (the youtube link I posted earlier in the thread). It'd be hard to dish out that kinda cash when we know that wasn't our best performance. We'd be more inclined to pay it for the ElCo show (but we still wouldn't heh).

You should have laughed at them anyway. I could understand somewhat if it was a more professional looking show, but the way they came across to me was highly unprofessional. The setup, the editing, not having the proper audio cues... I could understand if it was a bigger station wanting that much, but come on....

i'm gonna be on local dallas area tv channel 95 at some point in near future
they did the filming today and asked me my opinion on immigration
my response was that i feel that everyone in america should learn english or leave

i'm sorry everyone but comments like that ask for a very short reply,
hey LRD, why don't you learn the native american language or leave? Another way of seeing it, the same attitude you have now were entitled to have the native americans a few hundred years ago. Also they are vital for the economy. No beaners=economy would collapse, and you would have almost no one in agriculture and construction. The governor of Nebraska called "La Migra" up and told them to chill because they destroyed the local economy with their raids.
I'm sorry Kevin for replying to him....
Paul's guitar was OK in the mix, Dan's was way up, some of paul's solos that were not on a very high register were not very audible at times. Otherwise the sound was decent. Studio 7 is an awesome venue, you guys had MUCH better sound on the 24th than at El Corazon. Sometimes i couldn't hear Dan's guitar from Paul's side of the stage, and the drums and bass were not pounding on my balls like at studio7.

In all honesty, it's not much to ask that if you decide to emigrate to another country, you should at least make an effort to learn the language, thereby softening the inevitable multicultural blow.

Colour and creed divide us enough, language is an unnecessary addition to the problem.
