This could be cool without so much compression. FTFD influence is prevalent... is it me or do the vocals sound like they were pitch dropped just a bit?

Yeah totally crushed. There is literally no dynamics at all which is really disappointing as I think this could be a really cool recording. Like the song.

you could go back to him and tell him to limit the volume/compression more diligently. but if you've got other choices i'd suggest scoping those out first.
