Hi all. I mentioned my band was recording in the Oakland, CA studio where The Blackening (Machine Head) was recorded....along with the last two Exodus records, and High On Fire's earlier records.
So....we spent the last days putting down basic tracks. Everything sounds great. Stuff takes time though, so we have to go back and do vocals in a couple of weeks, along with some other flourishes. Nothing to post yet, but soon, and as of right now the sound quality exceeds my best hopes! It's a great studio. I asked the engineer working with us if he'd worked with Machine Head, and he hadn't, but they are there now practicing (in one of the practice spaces). He had worked on the last two Exodus records.

I think some of you old-school minded folks will dig it - we'll see. If nothing else, it's pretty damned old-school, but with some modern touches.
