I have a band called The Requiem. We have been a band for a couple months now. But my other bandmates say that want to rehearse, but each time I get ready to rehearse they never show up. I asked them why the next day why they didn't show up, they told me we forgot about it. Should I fire them and move on with a all new line up or give them a second chance?

Welcome to the fun world of trying to get your bandmates to take performing as seriously as you do.
You'll want to rip your own hair out when it's all said and done.

I have that same problem, so I dont really take it serriously anymore, I just jam with them occasionally, and do the real practicing by myself. For a band to actually be any good, it has to be dedicated. So if you get the chance to join or form a band of tallented, hard working musicians, fuck the old band and join the one that will actually go somewhere.

I say look for someone more serious if you are able to. We are about to get a new drummer for our band because he doesn't take the music as seriously as we do (not to mention he has an ego bigger than north america, but I won't mention that . . ). Anyway, the only way your band will become a lean mean killing machine is if everyone is on the same page. You all have to be 100% dedicated the the band or you will never reach your full potential.

I think you just did! :D

My band is in somewhat of a similar predicament. Everyone is dedicated, but our drummer seems to have been slipping in his performance and his drive. Coincidentally, he's just moved in with his girlfriend. Last week, he lied to our guitar player stating that I wasn't going to be at rehearsal when I was waiting for him and our guitar player for an hour. (I knew the guitar player would be late because of work demands, but he said that he would be there and he does keep his word. I'm sure he wasn't too happy to get there and find I wasn't there.)

Well it finally happened. Due to lack of commitment and musicial differences, I have officially parted ways with my singer and guitarist. I told them they had one more chance at this and they blew it. Once again, they didn't show up instead they were playing Halo. What a waste people, this sucks I was hoping it didn't have be like this. Oh well. Time to move forward.

Anyone in the Iowa/Illinois area want to join my band The Requiem, either reply here or e-mail me at evilsicknessx@aol or im at evilsicknessx. Thank you! Rock on!
