Knowing how well the Deftones thread I started went over, I'm bracing for impact here. But at the same time, I'd find it hard to believe if there wasn't a single MBV fan here.
ANYWHO, My Bloody Valentine just self-released its first album (obnoxiously titled "M B V") in around 20 years. They may have not invented shoegaze, but in my opinion, they definitely perfected and popularized it! If it wasn't for these guys, alot of bands wouldn't be around today!
And for those not knowing what to expect here, MBV likes to utilize heavily distorted guitars and create a dense, sometimes atonal ambiance alongside dreamy major-key-drenched vocals.
The new material isn't as mindblowing or groundbreaking as their heyday material is, but beggars can't be choosers. "M B V" is, at least in my opinion, an extremely strong effort and I'm glad we were able to get it! What do you guys think?
