So i got this guitar as a trade for my epiphone zakk wylde lp a while back and im finally getting to refinishing this beast.

specs are solid mahogany body, 3 piece mahogany neck, very nice ebony fretboard, jumbo frets, fretwork and neck are nice perfectly straight. it came with all black hardware, sperzel locking tuners, gotoh tom bridge, emg 81/85.

all hardware was ok main prob was that is was very poorly finished is was a clear polyurethane that was just horrible, pickups were even wired incorrectly from a guy who made custom pickups.

it also had a huge fucking ugly carving that was filled in with ebony dust, i sanded it off as u can see.

after a long extensive methylene chloride treatment, i got the finish off, i am now ready to do the finish which will be an oil finish, all that mahogany is just too beautiful to cover up.

more pics to come when i finish im getting my varnish this week.

Sorry to necrobump (or is ½ a year even technically a necrobump yet?) this thread, but was this build ever finished? It'd be really interesting to see the finished product.
