This is thread is not intended to promote my band but to ask for help, thus why I am posting it here. I am now in a band which I created. Because of this I wanted to be the main creative driving force behind the band. I wanted to make something that was proggish, different, yet was brutal and heavy. I have created two songs minus drumming and vocals. while I believe they are good I also think that I have failed my target. This material is not new or proggish in anyway. Sure it has a heavy sound but that was achieved through very basic ways. Open notes and palm noting are over used. This makes the two songs sound very samey, something I first mistook for similar styling. I have sent these two songs to the other members of my band but I also want your imput as well. Anything will be helpful. Advice on structure, riffs, tempo, tuning anything would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
