My first ever mix!!

Hey my brothers this was my first attempt at actually mixing a song. I got some pointers along the way from my best friend and studio partner Charles J. Did this mix for fun and practice. Also to see how much I have really learned over the past 3-4 years . Check it out!!!

Ok I wish I was cool but I'm not even gonna try and pretend to be ...

I have absolutely NO interest in this type of music for the most part. In fact, its downright annoying and I'm gonna chalk it up to me just not "getting it"

that being said .... its thick without sounding muddy, although there seems to be a few small sections where things get kinda "stuffy" sounding. Its a suitably ugly sounding mix (in a good way) for some ugly music

Killer....the only thing that I don't like very much are the toms...they don't glue very much to the resto of the kit..but maybe it's my taste

Its the Bre Bre jams! Job for a cow boy is all over it. I to hate this numetal crap, but you did a good job on the mix, in the middle parts there is some Gtr sweeps or melody going on that's way in the back, it could stand to come up, and yeah the toms are lacking something.

Pretty darn good for your first mix. Not a whole lot I would change, personally. Maybe a tiny more 800hz in the guitar tone...

There is some cloudness with cymbals and guitars.
I also feel too much distortion (too much loudness?)
Also, there are some high frequencies on cymbals that are piercing my ears.
Overall balance is good, but you should apply more automation (I feel that breaks, chorus and verses have the same dynamic, so It really causes fatigue).
Now, production wise, not my cup of tea. Didn't like the bass distortion sound too. Its not clear enongh.
One of the good mixes I heard for this style, though.

yes, specifically the crash thats panned to the left. you can hear it most during the breakdown at around 3 minutes. It rings for awhile and really pierces.

Other than that, great mix IMO, its just over compressed on the master. i did hear some distortion at one point because of that.

Actually i did have a gate on them and cut out the noise by hand. and I reamped the guitars how the guitar track's where given to me. But thanks for your opinion dude
