Hey everyone,

My name is Greg and I'm an independent audio engineer from Long Island, New York. This is my first post here and I've already learned a lot from reading around.

Drums: Superior Drummer 2.0 w/ Slate Samples.
Bass: SX Jazz Bass into Ampeg SVX
Guitar: Ibanez JS100 w/Dimebucker into Rocktron Vendetta Tube Head, 1x12 cab mic'd with a transformerless 57.

Minimal processing, some parallel compression etc.

There are two clips on here, so if you're up to rating both please do.

I know the riffs are monotonous, but its as a tone test. Songs are to follow.

Thanks for listening,

I like Tone Test 1 better. Not much dynamic in the playing on #2 to help gauge the tone though it sounds brighter and more upfront. Drums sound great to me.

The snare in #2 sounds way too distant and the guitars too dark.

At 5AM that's all I can offer.

BTW - Welcome lolzgreg.

Thanks for the response. I hope to be real active in this forum. I'm also a member of recordingreview.com (lolgreg). OzNimbus' "Acoustic Drums for Metal" guide and JBrolls' the tubescreamer FAQ drew me to this site.
