So i have been with my band for about 8 months now, it has been nothing but finding new bassists and drummer who know what their doing, or have the time to be in a band. So my other guitarist, our vocalist and I are gonna record a 5 song EP.
We are a death metal band but im sure alot of people will consider us deathcore, grindcore, scandinavian vegetarian progressive blah blah blah. What im looking for is the help of you guys to put together a nice sounding legit EP. So i am asking if someone has the time to reamp our tracks and when i have a mix, give me pointers on how to make it sound better. Also if someone feels up to it, run our drums through superior or slate drums.
I will be recording bass for the EP. We play in drop A and we have 2 guitars to choose from. We have a 6 string LTD with EMG's in it. Also a stock ibanez 7 string. I was wondering what would sound better between the two? I know Emg's sound really good, but the 7 string plays really well in drop A as far as string tension.
One more question, should we reamp the bass? Or just run it through mark bass VST?
